|
|
Dr. Jensen presents Ricardo Barnes of the Spring Branch Family Development Center with one of many basketballs donated to the Center by the Athletic Orthopedics Research Foundation.
AORF makes donations of thousands of sporting goods items (balls, bats, uniforms, etc.) to vital community initiatives because all children deserve the opportunity to enrich their lives through participation in sports.

Focus on the Community
Established in 1988, the Athletic Orthopedics Research Foundation is a non-profit organization that performs orthopedic research and supports communities, schools, and students in the greater Houston area. AOKC donates all fees from its annual school physicals to the Foundation. Because AOKC believes in giving back to the community, the Foundation donates all of these funds to children in need, community centers, schools, youth programs and civic groups through community service projects.

Low Cost Physicals
"As a parent of two athletes, I know the expense and time commitment related to extracurricular activities like sports leagues," said Dr. Jack E. Jensen, founder and director AOKC. "We wanted to provide students with easy access to comprehensive sports physicals and package that with a cost-saving opportunity to them and their families."
Each year, AOKC offers low-cost physicals to high school students in the Houston area. The physicals are offered on a Saturday at the start of each school year from 8 a.m. to noon at the Athletic Orthopedics & Knee Center, 9180 Old Katy Road in west Houston. No appointments are necessary. The cost is $25 per child. Each child will need a school physical form signed by the legal guardian. Additional forms will be available at the Athletic Orthopedics & Knee Center.
All proceeds from the high school physicals will be donated to Athletic Orthopedics Research Foundation, the non-profit foundation of Athletic Orthopedics & Knee Center. The proceeds are then invested into deserving community organizations. |
