Shoulders are prone to injuries due to overuse and repetitive motions which can lead to several problems. These "wear and tear" shoulder injuries are often caused by overhead and throwing sports like baseball, tennis, and swimming, because of the high mechanical stress and extreme range of motion performed with the shoulder joint. Some common injuries include impingement syndrome, rotator cuff tears, and bursitis. Prolonged immobilization or untreated inflammation, usually with other comorbidities, increases the risk of Adhesive Capsulitis also known as "frozen shoulder".
