Athletic Trainers (ATs) are licensed health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.

Athletic trainers are an integral part of our Sports Medicine Team at Athletic Orthopedic and Knee Center. On the playing field or court, they act as our “eyes and ears,” keeping the athletes safe and healthy. In our clinic, they serve as a valuable member of our team assisting in the treatment and prevention of our athletes’ injuries.

Alex Ager, MSEd, ATC, LAT--Sports Medicine Outreach Coordinator--In this position, Alex schedules athletic trainers to attend numerous sporting events at local area schools to assist in the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries.

Alex received his Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training with a Minor in Nutrition from Oregon State University and went on to graduate from Baylor University with a Master of Science in Sports Medicine while being a staff AT with Baylor Track and Field. Alex previously was the Director of Sports Medicine for Spring ISD and cared for over 1,000 athletes across 16 sports. His specialty is in injury mitigation, manual therapy, and rehabilitation techniques for restoring pre-injury function. When he is not working, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing golf and exploring the outdoors.
