AOK Sports Medicine Specialists work collaboratively
High School Athlete Injury Clinic with school staff to ensure the best care for our athletes. If a high school athlete is injured with an acute injury during a game, our Sports Injury Clinic is available on Saturday mornings to see them in our Emergency Room. Parents are encouraged to call ahead of time if they know their athlete will be coming.
Acute Musculoskeletal injuries that need to be seen include:
- Limited or no range of motion
- Inability to walk
- Hearing or feeling a "pop" and major swelling in a joint
- Obvious deformity
- Possible concussion
- Any injury that significantly worsens overnight
Our Athletes Have Access To:
- AOKC Sports Medicine Specialist in our Emergency Room
- Monday follow-up appointment after an Injury Clinic visit or same day in-office appointment throughout the week
- Our Patinum Patient Program where our athletic trainers consult with the athlete’s doctor directly regarding plan of care and then follows-up with the patient, coach, and school athletic trainer as needed
